CD9, IUI#10

I have 3 follicles all on the left this time, so IUI#10 is a go!   They were small, 13, 14, and 15.5, and my lining was 5, so I go in again on Wednesday to see how much they've grown.  If they are the right size I'll trigger then and have the IUI on Friday.

IUI #10...take 2

AF showed on time.  I switched back to clomid, for what will likely be our last IUI, and am on the second of 5 days of the pills.  The femara seemed to be giving me more and worse side effects, with no better outcome, so I chose to go back to what has worked before.

I will be paying the non-refundable deposit for our IVF when I go in for a follicle count on Monday, which will be CD9.  If this IUI doesn't work, and if all goes well with the prerequisites, I think that we will able to do an IVF in May.

We will only try IVF once, so I am pretty much down to my two last cycles of TTC.

Kind of strange to really have the end in sight.

Nearing the end of another TWW

I'm about 11dpo today, depending on exactly when I ovulated.  My tests went completely negative the evening on 9dpo and are still negative today.  I had spotting again at 6dpo (pink) and 8dpo (red), just like last cycle, and then this morning, I had heavier dark red spotting that has turned brown and gotten lighter.  I also had some very intense cramping last night.  It was like muscle spasms, except it hurt.  It was lighting strike shooting pains through my lower abdomen, enough to make me say ouch out loud.  Today I have AF type overall cramps.

I'm on the fence as to whether or not these are "good" signs.  Last cycle I got kind of excited when I saw the spotting at 6dpiui, because that is when implantation can start.  This time, instead of excited I was disappointed when I saw the spotting.  The bfn tests so far are not encouraging, but the weird cramping could be.  The symptom spotting in a TWW is enough to drive a person crazy, hahaha!  Since I have had every symptom there is in a cycle and not been pregnant, and then had no symptoms at all and been pregnant, I know better than to read into it.

Instead, I will just bide my time and keep waiting.  And testing.

Fun with the trigger!

I always test out the trigger to watch it leave my system.  That way if I see a line towards the end of the TWW, I know it's real.

It's been 8 days since I triggered.  The line is pretty faint now, but not completely gone yet.  Maybe it'll start to come back instead of disappearing.   One can always hope.

Here are my tests so far.

TWW without the IUI

I tested with opk's from CD9 (when I had the ultrasound showing two nearly mature follicles) until CD12.  I didn't get a positive, so since my leftover trigger dose was going to expire, I just went ahead and gave myself the shot just before noon on Friday.  By my guesstimation, my follicles would have been about 25 and 22mm by then.  I really believe they were because hoo-boy could I ever feel my ovaries this weekend.  It was actually painful at certain times (especially bd'ing!).  We didn't get as many "deposits"  in as I had hoped, but I think we still covered our bases fairly well.  Now it's just a wait and see.  I'd love for my next call to the RE to be one saying we don't need them anymore rather than saying its CD1.  For the moment, I'm hopeful.

I plan on testing out the trigger every other day, as usual. Maybe this will be our lucky break.  One can always wish and dream.  :)

Cancelled

There will have to be a take 2 for IUI#10.  My leading follicle is 19mm, but it's on the right side this time, the side that is missing the tube.  Because of that there is not much point in spending money on an IUI.  I do have a 16mm on the left, so there is a possibility that I may ovulate that one also, and there is a chance that the left tube will pick up the ovulated egg from the right side, so we will still try on our own.  I'm going to track with opk's until I see a positive, and then I will use the last of the trigger shot that I have at home.  It's going to expire anyway and there is no harm in using it, so I may as well make sure I do ovulate.

I'm a little disappointed we had to cancel this IUI, but I'm not upset.  We've had pretty good luck so far in having all the scheduled IUI's since the ectopic have a leading left side follicle.  It was bound to happen that the leader was on the right one of these times.

CD7 IUI#10

I missed my dose of Femara last night.  I woke up in a panic this morning and took it right then, but it was about 12 hours late.  The package insert says to take missed doses as soon as you remember and then the regular dose at the regular time, so I'll have 36 hours and then 12 hours between doses.  I can't believe I forgot to take it.  It's not like I'm new at this or anything.

The RE wants me to come in on CD9 instead of CD10 this time.  I guess they finally figured out that I grow my follicles big and fast.  I expect there will be an 18mm at that time.  I hope that they let me trigger a day later this time, I'd like to try a cycle with the mature follicles over 22mm when they release.

If this cycle with Femara doesn't give me a BFP, I'll probably request to be switched back to Clomid. It was getting me BFP's 50% of the time, even if they weren't sticky.
